We do not have a flat repair price associated with each tape drive type. Our repair prices are dependent on parts required and repair time associated. This benefits you, because if the fix is not tech time intensive and not many parts required to fix, then the repair charge reflects it.
Our two technicians who work together as a team have over 40 years in the data storage area. Combined they have over 17 years of working for MWTSS in the tape drive repair area. Currently we repair about 200 to 350 tape drives per month.

We are a full service repair center specializing in repair services on tape drives, disk drives, optical drives, tape autoloaders or tape libraries. We offer repair services on all brands; Storagetek, Exabyte, Seagate, Dell, Compaq/HP, Breece Hill, IBM, ATL, Quantum, ADIC, SUN, Fujitsu, Sony, Western Digital, Plextor, Toshiba, etc. We have been in business for over 20 years. Some Repair Procedures:
- Complete diagnostic testing of the unit's functionality
- Adjustments to the tape transport guides, cassette housing, head synchronization alignment, pinch roller and deck tolerances will be set to factory standards
- Complete cleaning of tape path and heads, including wear inspection of all moving parts, which will be replaced if tolerances are out of factory specifications
- Refurbishment of worn heads, and/or replacement if necessary
- Servo alignment will be tested and adjusted to factory specifications
- Head sync alignment and timing will be performed, if necessary
- Final full back-up and restoring of data, including motion tests will be performed
